As part of the “Promoting Energy Efficiency in Supporting and Food Processing Industries in Vietnam” project funded by UNOPS and implemented by VCCI, the training workshop titled “Collaboration to Promote Energy-Saving and Energy Transition Solutions Towards Green and Sustainable Growth for Businesses” was held in Vinh City, Nghe An Province, on July 18–19, 2024.

The event was organized by VCCI, in collaboration with the Institute of Information Technology for Business (VCCI-ITB) and VCCI Nghe An Branch, gathering 63 participants from food processing enterprises, supporting industries, financial institutions, industrial parks, and government agencies.

Key topics included updates on energy management policies, greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction, mandatory GHG inventory requirements, practical energy-saving solutions, and clean energy investment opportunities. Special sessions addressed the Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) for carbon credits and practical GHG inventory techniques aligned with ISO 14064-1:2018 standards.

Participants engaged in lively discussions on solar energy investments, green credit options, and challenges in achieving NetZero targets at the local level. The workshop was highly appreciated for its relevance and applicability, with strong requests for follow-up sessions focusing on green finance and carbon management.
